Yes indeed. Sorry about wasting bandwidth because of this trivial problem. After updating my LD_LIBRARY_PATH to reflect changes in the library directory structure of gcc since 3.3.something, configure and build works correctly. Thus, I can now report about a functional build of 2.99.8 with gcc 3.4.3 on Solaris 8. :) Anders
