The sources for the stable version will not be updated in the near future
(besides an important bug fix in mktexlsr).
For the beta release, I am not sure, so the answer is: maybe.
If you do it yourself, it is really easy: start from the beta release and
replace texk/web2c/pdf*tex by the new pdftex release. Then, just "make
world". I also recommend to update pdftex.def, hyperref and thumbpdf.
