I am pleased to announce release 3.0 of the teTeX distribution. It was promised for "sometime in 2004" and I have only slightly missed that goal. Thanks to everone who has helped to get this out!
The teTeX homepage (http://tug.org/teTeX/) now has some files of the source distribution (e.g. the INSTALL document) and the complete doc tree of the texmf distribution (http://tug.org/teTeX/tetex-texmfdist/doc/) online, so you can see in detail what you get before you download / install. Lots of other projects and people provide teTeX in repacked and compiled form and I am willing to maintain links to such resources on teTeX's web page.
