Sam2p is useful for people who don't use teTeX, so it should be
packaged separately.

teTeX relies on lots of 3rd party software. It can't possibly include
everything, and even putting all the dependencies in some archive
manager is problematic as it will pull in many packages that may never
actually be used on a given individual's workstation. Debian apt
supports "suggested" packages, while Red Hat has "groups" that can be
viewed in system-config-packages to select the components you want.
In Fedora Core 4, teTeX is in the Authoring and Publishing group,
which also has docbook, and has 2 optional components:

tetex-xdvi
xhtml1-dtds

Red Hat's tetex package already includes things that aren't in tetex
(e.g., ptex). For those of us who have to deal with multiple
distributions and platforms, it would be helpful if there was more
consistency in package contents across platforms. Since that won't
happen, maybe Red Hat's teTeX should be called rhtex.
