Has anyone had any problems with gv (ghostview) 3.5.8 reporting fewer pages in a PostScript file produced by dvips 5.86 (from teTeX 1.0.6) than one produced by dvips 5.58f (from teTeX 0.9)? (This on Slackware 7 on a PC.) I have an example file I am trying to cut down to show the problem. If you edit out all the DSC comments from the included Encapsulated PostScript files, all is well - even though they look ok to me. (I have the PostScript LRM to hand.) My guess is that one/some of then is causing gv to go wrong, but I don't yet know which. dvips 5.58f removed all DSC comments on inclusion, to be safe, but dvips 5.86 doesn't (at least by default).
