Dear Gerhard,

The command \setclef requires TWO arguments: the first one is the instrument number and the second one is the number of the key.

So if you enter \setclef16, the first argument is 1 (instrument number=1) and the second argument is 6 (key number=6).

If you enter \setclef8, there is just one argument and the problem comes from the fact that a second argument is required.

(Don't confuse \setclef16 with \setclef{16}. In the latter case, there is one argument which is 16)
