When we had the NSS Convention in New Braunfels in 1978 many of us
were sick and tired of NSS Conventions costing 70 or 80 dollars, plus
the cost of fuel to get there. So we vowed that the Texas convention
would not cost that much. Through much volunteer effort we managed to
have what was described later by attendees from afar as one of the
best conventions up to that time--and for only a $15 registration fee.
Though there were a couple of other co-chairs and several dozen
dedicated organizers, Ronnie Fieseler was the driving force behind
making it the success it was.
