How or even whether clearing cedars affects groundwater is purely secondary to the usefulness and visual benefits enjoyed from getting rid of it. Cedar covered land has virtually no value except a minimal habitat. That habitat can be improved by getting rid of the cedars and leaving a large variety of more desirable native Texas plants.
