Last year I purchased two Samsung 1080 LCD flat panels from Conn's who seem to 
have as good a pricing as the other retailers. They seem to be very good but we 
have viewed them very little. Last years Consumer Report gave Vizio a very 
favorable rating. I would believe that all of the Japanese and possibly Asian 
brands are good.

My brother recently bought one of the vizio 37" from target, he's been
really happy with it, even picked up the extended warranty on it, just
to be on the safe side, since its one of the "cheap" brands

Personally, I stick with the major brands, I love my Sony
