Ramon,
  The snake is a rat snake (genus Elaphe).  It looks like E. guttata (aka corn 
snake).  Where was the photo taken?  Rat snakes are "good" snakes.  They are 
non-venomous, not agressive, and eat rodents.  You are fortunate to have him 
around.  Be nice to your snake and he'll take care of your house!
