Hello Cavers! Now that Roger has announced the date and location of the 2015 TSA convention, I'd like to request volunteers for speaking selections at the convention!
As many of you know, every year at TSA convention we have informational talks where cavers/researchers/explorers/inventors olunteer to speak on a number of cave related topics. In the past, we've had presentations on topics such as: archaeology, cave biology, diving, geology, hydrology, cave critters, caving mapping inventions, survey trips and exploration, cave photography, restoration, safety, history, fun caving trips, and caving techniques. However, don't feel limited...anything somewhat caving-related is fair game. The spring convention will be held on Friday afternoon, April 24-Sunday, April 26 at Cave without a Name in Boerne, TX (http://cavewithoutaname.com/). Presentations will be held during the day on Saturday, April 25 with a break for lunch. Presentations are typically 15-20 minutes in length plus a little time for audience questions, but there is plenty of flexibility in the schedule if you would like to give a shorter or longer presentation. We will have a laptop, projector and speakers so if you have video footage or photos you'd like to show, along with your presentation, please do! Also, if you have a suggestion for someone I should contact to be a presenter, please let me know. (Or you can ask them yourself, saves me some work!) I don't usually know of every exciting caving project that is going on in our community, but I do want the TSA talks to showcase the exciting caving that's going on. So I appreciate any information on who I should be sure to contact individually and invite. Camping is awesome at CWAN, and Saturday's informational sessions will be held INSIDE the cave. Based on the last couple of years, this will be another AWESOME TSA convention! Make plans to attend and contact me if you have any questions or would like to be a presenter! Hope to see you all there! Cavingly, Mallory Mayeux TSA Speaker Coordinator mmay...@gmail.com 225-933-9885
