Diana Tomchick and I watched a Steve Backshall episode about canyoneering in 
Oman. We were curious about their unorthodox rappelling devices, amused by 
their struggles going down a long rope, and relieved that no one got injured or 
killed. Backstall doesn’t seem up to Bear Gryll’s level of competence and he 
doesn’t gross me out with what he eats.
