Q2                       Why is Maa Durga called Narayani and Vaisnavi?

A2          Vignesh Laxman V B July4, 2020 Har Har Mahadev (Lord Shiva) ·

Actually Ma Durga is just oneof the incarnations of Ma Adi Shakti. Ma Adi
Shakti is known as Narayanibecause she is Mūla Prakriti and Narayana is
Purushottama. Narayani meanssister of Narayana.

According to Shiva Puran and Devī Bhagavatam, Kali-Lakshmi-Saraswati arethe
form of the same Mother Goddess Umā/Bhagavatī. So she is Vaishnavi, Rudrani,
Brahmāni, Indrani, and so on. All theShaktis of the Devas have the same source,
Mata Umā.

Ma Bhagavatī is called Mahamaya as well. This does not mean she is Māya
herself. It is just one of her aspects. She is the controller all the Prakritis
and thus is known as Mūla Prakriti, butshe herself is not bound by it. She is
beyond the Material World, the threeGunas, the Tattvas, etc.

या देवी सर्वभूतेषु शक्ति-रूपेण संस्थिता।

नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥

ॐ नमः शिवाय ॥

Q3         What is innocent love?

A3          Ritesh Kumar Mishra December31-2020

Ramakrishna and Maa Kali. Everyone knows about his love for Kali. Generally, we
offer the food toGod and later we eat it.

Ramakrishna first tasted the food before offering it to Kali, when peopleasked
him why he does? His reason was so simple, so innocent. He said “When my mother
serves me food, she tastes it first then give me food, she does it out of love
as she wants to check whether thisfood has taste, salt, spice or is it cooked
well or not? In the sameway, how can I offer the food to Kali without tasting
it first.

Q4         Why is the Gayatri Mantra prohibited for women?

A4          2 Answers Vijyu R,former Teacher 3-2-2021

During the earlier Vedic times in Ancient India, the Sage’s and Rishi's wives
and women progenycould also wear the Yagnopaveetham or sacred thread and
perform theSandhyavandanam rites and Gayathri Mantra japa and worship and also
learn theVedas and practise austerities and penances on par with the males and
men.

Maitreyi and Gargeyi also held open debates with the Sages and they
wereencouraged positively with a questionnaire and answer debate regarding
theVedas, Upanishads and other materials of study.

After the Supreme law giverVaiwasvatha Manu, who was the direct descendant of
the Sun God (Surya Deva)framed the new set of rules, the female womenfolk were
barred from chanting theVedic hymns and it was restricted only for the males in
a family.

In order to compensate for thefemales in the families, the husband/s
symbolically wore an extraYagnopaveetham or Sacred thread for the well being of
the women as his wife orDharma Pathni, so that he couldworship on her behalf
and whatever virtue or Punya was obtained by the husbandby performing the
Sandhyavandanam, Yagnas, Homas, Havana, chanting, rites and rituals etc, 50%
ofthe virtues would be transferred to his wife's account by
defaultautomatically.

As per the Shrimad Bhagawatham, there is no need for performing any of the
rigorous rites and rituals for awoman in the Hindu society. Allshe needs to do
is to be obedient to the husband, in laws and their families, and help in
reproduction and increasing the family head count. The same equivalent virtue
of performing Sandhyavandanam and GayathriJapam would be credited to the
females or wives if they would water a Tulasi orBasil plant intheir courtyards
in the mornings and look after it well for a long time.

Even for the men, they have to be very pure in body, heart and mind, soulto be
eligible to perform the Sandhyavandanam and Gayathri Japam, they willalso need
a lot of sexual discipline and restraint, they must try as far aspossible not
to ejaculate, since it is considered to be impure in the spiritualaspect.

The males (Brahmanas,Kshatriyas and Vaishyas) have to be initiated very early
in their lives bytheir Fathers or Uncles and other close relatives or by a Guru
who is well versed in the chanting andperformance of the Gayathri Mantra and
Sandhyavandanam, ideally to be done in aGurukul or Ashrams, which is so very
rare to find these days.

Why the women were excluded from Gayathri initiation was also probably because
thePriesthood duties were confined only to the males and they had to wear only
a 2or 1 piece garment clothing.

The Gayathri or Savithri Mantra is considered to be the Best and MostPowerful
amongst all of the Mantras and it is having Beejaksharas in it. Itmight produce
vibrations and the seeker must be able to handle the bodily changesand
everything must be consented by the Gurus and Acharyas so I guess that
theScriptural or Shastric laws are not to be changed by the human beings
sincethey come directly from our Gods and Goddesses and we should not change
theirdictates.

Since Lord Krishna has also said in the Srimad Bhagawad Gita :

तस्माच्छास्त्रं प्रमाणं तेकार्याकार्यव्यवस्थितौ।

ज्ञात्वा शास्त्रविधानोक्तं कर्मकर्तुमिहार्हसि।।16.24।।

Meaning - Therefore, the scripture is your authority as regards
thedetermination of what is to be done and what is not to be done.
Afterunderstanding (your) duty as presented by scriptural injunction, you ought
toperform (your duty) here.

Kaivalya Dharmananda, studied at Yoga (2002) Answered 3-2-2021

Gayatri Mantra is not prohibitedfor women. It invokes cosmicrealms in secular
words, and persons following any religion can use it forspiritual development.

Q5         What is the importance of a coin as a source of history?

A5          Matthew Richter,President, Agora Auctions, Inc. (2013-present)
Answered October 1, 2018

The importance of coins as a source of history vary from period to periodby
location but they do alwayshave some importance.

The first coins are from theAnatolian kingdom of Lydia in what is now Turkey.
These coins are important as historical artifacts because they show
theincreasing sophistication of the economy and are indicative of the
growingseparation of classes in society.

>From these early coins we canwatch as other nations started minting coins, how
>the denominations changed and increased and how the artistic styleof the
>images on the coins increased. This is important because it helpshistorians
>track the flow of information around the known world and tells us alot about
>metallurgy and technology. Additionally finding coins from one nation across
>land and sea in anotherfar away nation can tell us something about
>communication and trade.

By the 4th Century BCE, manyempires were minting coins with the rulers’ faces
and titles on them. Sometime after this the regnal yearswere also included.
These coins allow us to confirm the historical recordswritten elsewhere. In
many cases coins have been found that allow us toclear up poorly understood
dynastic problems. A few coins have even allowed us to confirm the existenceof
rulers that some historians speculated never existed.

By the Roman Empire coins actually took on the role that newspapers wouldplay
many centuries later. TheRomans used coins to announce new emperors, the naming
of heirs to theEmpire, Successful battles, holiday celebrations and even
charitable events.

Infinity- One of the most popular symbols in science and arts.TheInfinity
Symbol is just a mathematical symbol used in all sciences, physics, even in html
coding.

Q6         What’s the secret of the infinity symbol? Why is it sospecial?

A6          Salini Pillai. I wouldlove to share 5 secrets of infinity symbol:-

It symbolizes divine Power-

The symbol of the Infinity comes from the great Uraeus, symbols of the Goddess.
The Uraeimeans symbol of power, worn by gods and goddesses. One was not
considered as a king or a queen untilthey were crowned by this divine snake. It
represents that one willnever have true power until s/he realizes the divine
power within.

Mehet or Iaret?

This same symbol is found in 2 depictions- Mehet means ‘the coiled one’ and
iaret means ‘therisen one‘.

It’s Ouroboros

Mehet Uraeus (the coiled one)is simply Ouroboros, this is oneof the interesting
secrets of the infinity.

The divine Blessings of Nile

The Nile, in ancient Egypt, wasnot just considered as a river. Itsymbolized all
the blessings and the gifts from God. Moreover, Nile was a “reflection” of
theMilky Way, reflecting the blessings of above this Earth, Interestingly,
Nilewas also linked to the afterlife.

It comes from the last Greekletter Omega (Ω – ω)

This is something more scholars agree on out of every secret aboutinfinity
symbol. It isderived from the letter omega which is the last letter of the
original alphabet– the Greek one. In Christian iconography, Jesus Christ is
symbolicallyconsidered as the Alpha and Omega (A & Ω) which is the beginning
and theend (of the time). As Godand time are infinite, the letter Omega (ω)
became the infinity symbol, to showthe continuity beyond the End (∞).

Q7         What are the first common signs of diabetes?

A7          Chloe Smith January 26 CommunityManager (2019–present)

Often, type 2 diabetes isdiagnosed accidentally during a routine blood test.
Diabetes creeps up slowly, often with no signs andsymptoms. Some of the early
signs of this disease may be associated with othercauses.

Update- I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetics while I went toa hospital for
continuous fever in Calicut. It was the time I was coming backto Trivandrum
from Calicut in another two days. He called me two times later not to  keep
quietabout high blood sugar levels and consult doctors at Trivandrum…

Are you aware of these 8 early signs of Type 2 diabetes?

Widespread issue

The figures put out by CDC show that 34.2 million people in the US
havediabetes. Of these, 90-95% suffer from type 2 diabetes. While this
indicates that 1 in 10people have the disease, 7.3 million people do not know
about it.Are you one of them?

Why getting diagnosed is essential? If you have pre-diabetes and takecare of
your health, youmay be able to avoid getting full-blown diabetes. If you have
type2, you can better manage your care and avoid the many health complications
ofdiabetes.

What are the symptoms of diabetes?

Early signs of type 2 diabetes are many, but you may not be aware ofthem.
Unfortunately, as sugar levels shoot up, the disease often causesirreversible
damage to the body in different ways. That is why you must monitoryour health
regularly and go for routine health check-ups.

A family history of diabetes puts you at greater risk of developing thedisease,
as does obesity, poor eating habits, sedentary lifestyle, and age.

If you suffer from one or more (or all) of these, get your blood sugartested.

Needing to urinate very often – as the blood sugar levels are higher than
average, the kidneys try to expel the excess sugar by removing all liquid
fromyour body, so you need to pee constantly.

Increased thirst – this results in your feeling thirsty. You might have adry
mouth, so you drinkmore water.

Feeling very hungry, even ifyou have eaten recently – thisoccurs because your
cells cannot use the nutrition available, thanks to reducedinsulin levels in
the body.

Inexplicable weight loss – asyou pee a lot, you lose thecalories in the form of
sugar. You will lose weight even if you are eatingnormally.

Fatigue or being more tiredthan warranted – you cannot usethe energy that the
food is supposed to give you. Plus, you get dehydrated fromfrequent urination.
It results in reduced energy levels and fatigue.

Blurred vision or poor eyesight– when your body’s sugarlevels are high, it
causes you to have reduced mental focus and causes visionproblems.

Nerve pain or tingling in thehands and feet – high sugarlevels in the blood can
cause nerve damage resulting in pain andtingling in the extremities. It can
also cause headaches.

Sores or wounds that takelonger to heal – again, high sugarlevels reduce your
body’s ability to heal wounds and cuts.

While these are some of the early signs of Type 2 diabetes, there areother
indicators of high and low blood sugar levels. You should be alert forthese and
be indicationsof diabetic hypoglycemia or low blood sugar. Hypoglycemia is
caused by excessmedication or insufficient food intake, delayed meals, or other
reasons.

The symptoms include:

Shakiness Dizziness Breakingout in a sweat

Hunger Palpitations or an increased heartbeat

Vision disturbances Confusion. Moodiness or irritability. Nervousness oranxiety

When you know what to look out for, you are more likely to take the rightcourse
of action to manage your diabetes.

How is type 2 diabetes diagnosed?

When you visit your doctor for any medical care or even for a routinecheck-up,
a blood test can reveal whether your sugar levels are high. The test involves a
simple finger prick, and the result is out in lessthan a minute. In a
laboratory setting, the blood will be taken from a vein.

Random Blood Sugar Test

It does not matter when you visit your doctor, whether you have eaten or you
are fasting or have eaten a long time ago. This blood test isRandom Blood
Sugar.

The warning point for this is sugar levels of 200 mg/dl or higherindicate
diabetes. You mayhave pre-diabetes if the levels are between 140 and 199 mg/dl.
In either case, the doctor may order more tests.

Fasting Plasma Glucose Test

A more definitive test is the Fasting Blood Sugar, also called the Fasting
Plasma Glucose Test. The blood for this is drawn out from a vein in a
laboratory. As the name of thetest shows, it is done only after fasting. You
must not eat solid food for 8-12 hours before thetest, only having a little
water if necessary.

If you have pre-diabetes, your doctor will recommend some lifestyle anddiet
changes. If you havetype 2 diabetes, your doctor will put you on medications
and recommendlifestyle changes.

Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT)

This is a test and measures your body’s ability to use glucose. It is regarded
as the goldstandard for a diabetes diagnosis. For this test, you must fast for
8-12hours. Then you go to the laboratory, and your blood is drawn for the
FastingBlood Glucose test. This acts as a baseline.

After that, you are given 75grams or 2.6 ounces of sugar in 237 ml or 8 ounces
of water to drink. You have to wait for 2 hours as the body uses thesugar, and
then the blood is drawn again.

The second test’s sugar levels indicate if you have normal levels,
havediabetes, or pre-diabetes.

A reading of 100 mg/dL indicates that your sugar levels are normal.

A reading of between 100 and 125 mg/dL shows that you have pre-diabetes.

A reading of 126 mg/dL or more, after two tests, shows that you havediabetes.

HBA1C Test

Also called the glycated hemoglobin test, this one measures the average blood
sugar levelsin your body for the past three months. It works by measuring the
percentage of redblood cells that are coated with sugar. High levels of this
indicate that youhave diabetes or pre-diabetes.

A reading of 5.7% shows that your sugar levels are normal.

A reading ofbetween 5.7% and 6.4% shows that you have pre-diabetes.

A reading of 6.5%or above is indicative of diabetes.

If you have any abnormal readings that confirm you have diabetes, followyour
doctor’s instructions regarding medication, diet control, and exercise.

My note- These standards arekept  still  lesser in some hospitals India

How do you know it is a medical emergency?

Sometimes, despite your best efforts, you may find yourself caughtunaware. If
you feel too weak or faint or even lose consciousness, you need immediate
medical attention. It may happen if your blood sugar levelsgo too high or too
low.

Do keep your family, friends, and colleagues aware that you are dealingwith
diabetes, and they can get you medical care if you become unconscious. Ifyou
are in a state to do so, do talk to your doctor, visit the emergency roomat the
nearest hospital or call 911.

And if you have type 2 diabetes, consult your doctor before changing
anymedications, taking any supplements, or embarking on any new physical
activity.

Key takeaways:

Know what the early signs of Type 2 diabetes are – when you are aware ofthe
signs and symptoms, you are more likely to take the correct action andvisit a
doctor.

Get the blood tests done as per medical guidance for diagnosis – you mustget a
diagnosis and start treatment to prevent any long-term damage to yourhealth.

Take your prescribed medicines regularly and monitor your blood sugarlevels at
home – always make sure that you carry some medicines with you.

Q8         Why does Lord Shiva like Bel Patra?

A8          Shared by Shree Keshava 5-2-2021

The reason that Lord Shiva like Bel Patra is because Bilva tree emerged from
the sweat of Lord Shiva's wife Mata Parvati,as described in the Nagara Khanda
of the Skanda Purana. It also states, that Goddess Parvati herself stays inthe
root of Bilve Tree:

The splendid Daughter of the Mountain; the goddess [Parvati] became tireddue to
her sports. Drops of sweat appeared on her forehead ...and a drop fell on the
ground. It became a great tree on the excellent mountainMandara.... Parvati
said, "Since this tree pierced through theground and rose up near me, let it be
named Bilva. If anyone approaches thistree devoutly and collects the leaves, he
shall certainly become a king of theearth. If anyone with perfect faith
worships me with its leaves,he will realize whatever desire he may cherish. If
a person, after seeing the leaves ofBilva, at least maintains faith in the rite
of adoration, I shall undoubtedlybe the bestowed of wealth on him. If anyone
makes his mind to eat the tip ofthe leaves, thousands of his sins perish
automatically. If a manplaces the tip of the leaf on his head, no torture of
Yama will give himpain." ...

This Bilva tree is very excellent, sacred and destructive of sins. Thereis no
doubt about this that Goddess Girija resides at its root. Itis remembered that
Dakshayani is present on its stem, Maheshwari on itsbranches, Goddess Parvati
on its leaves and Katyayani on its fruit. Gauri has been mentionedas present on
its bark, Aparna at the middle of the bark, Durga in the flowerand Uma in the
branches and twigs. At the behest of Girija, nine crores ofShaktis have
stationed themselves on its thorns for the sake of protectingliving beings.

Those are all names of different forms of the goddess Parvati. Since every part
of the Bilva tree is suffusedwith some form of Parvati, it is the ideal article
to be used inworship of Shiva, just as Tulasi is ideal for worshipped Vishnu as
it'sassociated with Vishnu's wife Lakshmi.

Also according to Bilwasatakam, the three petals of Bel leaf destroyssins of
three birth:

tridalaṃ triguṇākāraṃ trinetraṃ ca triyāyuddham

trijanmapāpasaṃhāraṃ ekabilvaṃ śivārpaṇam

Meaning

Offering one three petaled bel leaf which is like the three qualities, which is
like the three eyes of Shiva, which is like the trident weapon ofShiva,
destroys sins of three births.HARA HARA MAHADEVA!
