Q1         Why do loco pilotsexchange rings at stations in Indian Railways?

A1          Subhasis Dutta Roy April10, 2020 Working in Indian Railways at
Indian Railways (2001–present)

I was working in this system as a Loco Pilot. In my working area PKA
(Pradhankhantato SNMY(Sindhry) undersingle line operation and use a token
system.

This system is used in single line section in Indian Railways. In singleline
section trains operations done in both directions on the same line. So itmust
assure that when a train enters in a block section (the section betweentwo
consecutive stations) in one direction by no any means another train canenter
in the same block section.

To obtain this security a special instrument is used in stations. It iscalled a
single line token block instrument. It looks like this.It is also called Neal
BlockInstrument.

Two consecutive stations are X and Y. SM of station X wants to line clearfrom
station Y through telephone and block instrument. SM of Y given the lineclear
of that particular train by operates the block instrument. It notices onblock
instrument of station X. Then SM of station X operates his blockinstrument.
With this operate a token comes out from block instrument ofstation X. It looks
like this.

Then this token put into a token pouch. It looks like this.

This is ring what handed overto Loco Pilot as authority to proceed with line
clear for entering into a block section. Loco pilot already has a tokenfrom the
previous station for previous authority to proceed.

First, he gives his previous token to station staff or drop at aparticular
place near and visible to SM and takes a fresh token from SM as authorityto
proceed. It looks at this

Here Loco Pilot give his previous token and SM in the rear give him freshtoken
as new authority to proceed for advance block section. It continuesthroughout
the section.

The received token from Loco Pilot inserts to the block instrumentimmediately
by SM.

36 Tokens in Ball TokenInstrument and 40 Tokens in Tablet Token Instrument
shall normally be provided in the Block Instruments controlling a BlockSection.
Only one Tokencan be taken out at any one time.

Another very important aspect is when one Token has been taken out atstation
‘X’ another token can not be taken out at ‘X’ or ‘Y’ until the tokenpreviously
taken out has been inserted in the instrument at ‘X’ or ‘Y’.

My note- InKerala  Kayamkulam- Ernakulam is singleline either via Alleppy or
via Kottayam

Q2         After getting selected asa bank PO/clerk, do you have career
satisfaction?

A2          Jyant Bhardwaj 17h ago ClearedSBI JA 2020

No way, forgot about satisfaction there is always frustration in my head.

SATISFACTION - 0/10 FRUSTRATION - 10/10

WHY ?

This can be the best job for the ones who doesn't not want more fromtheir lives
like 10–5 sitting, fixed salary at fixed time, following orders, monotonous
routine and monotonous work.

But not for the ones whoseaspirations are high.

When you are unemployed every job looks best to you until you get thatone and
from that moment it starts slowly losing its charm.

Same happened in my case, i joined bank with full of enthusiasm and aftertwo
months, i feels like what the ….. i am doing here with my future.

Doing same monotonous work every passing day, comes at 10 am and leavesat 5 pm.

Same monotonous routine, nothing new.

Same work, again and again. Unsatisfiedcustomers.

Unsolved problems .Network glitches.

These things makes me to think about better options than bankingindustry.

Anyway, i have to stay in this vicious circle until i find somethinginteresting
because salary is more important than my frustration. 😉

Currently preparing for CAT 2021.

Only personal views and bank employees can feel my situation.

Mynote- I have seen many bank managers most dedicated and interested in
work.Many are very personal.

Q3         A friend of mine has beenbooked in an FIR by her sister in law in a
fake case, 3 days After she joinedSBI PO. It is done with a malicious intent of
causing her trouble in policeverification process .She is 100% innocent . Would
she loose her job?

A3          MPawar PawarTue Managerat State Bank of India (SBI) (2016–present)

In SBI PO, Bank dispatch letters to the local police station forverification.
Police staff generally check their records and visit your home.He can randomly
inquire from your neighbours. Be prepared for this verification check. Makesure
to clear everything before police verification. SBI is quite particularfor its
policies of employee verification, any negative report can be a reason
fordisqualification from job.

Q5         Why did Babruvahana notinherit the kingdom of Panda as instead of
Parikshit, although Babruvahana wasArjun's son with a legal wife?

A5          Bhanu Kiran Thu Exploringancient texts of Sanatana Dharma

When Arjuna saw Chitrangada, he fell for her and asked her father to givehis
daughter for marriage. Chitrangada’s father put a condition that the son born
to them willinherit the kingdom of Manipura. Arjuna accepted the condition
andlived with Chitrangada in her palace for 3 years and begot Babruvahana.
Babruvahana was made as the kingof Manipura. It is for this reason, Babruvahana
did not inherit the kingdom ofHastinapura and he even did not participate in
Kurukshetra war.

“A king named Prabhamkara was once born in our lineage. He had no sonsand
performed supreme austerities for the sake of offspring. On witnessing
histerrible austerities and homage, the god Mahadeva Umapati74 Shankara
wassatisfied. The great lordgranted him the boon that only a single offspring
would be born in everygeneration of this lineage. Since then, in succession,
only a singleoffspring has been born in our lineage. All my ancestors before me
had sons. But a daughter was born to me and it is certain that she will have to
carry forwardmy lineage. O supreme among men! I have always thought of her as
my son. O bullamong the Bharata lineage! In accordance with what is prescribed,
I havetherefore made her my putrika. The son, the perpetuator of this lineage,
willbe the bride price. OPandava! You can take her, as long as you agree to
this condition.”Agreeing to this condition, he accepted the daughter and
Kounteya lived in thatcity for three winters.

Q6         What's the most recentgesture that made your day?

A6          Shraddha PandeyUpdatedJanuary 3, 2020 Digital Marketer at Lustro
(2021–present)

Last week, I went to eat pani puri with my younger sister. She is veryaddicted
to pani puri. So after many tantrums I had to rush to eat pani puri.

Let me tell you something about me, I am residing in Bangalore inelectronic
city phase 1.

At a distance of 1 km, there is a Dream mart showroom and I use to eatpani puri
from a stall who sells panipuri in front of D-mart.

His pani puri is very tasty. Solast week I went there with my sister. He has a
very small stall.

Like this:

So we started eating pani puri. After 2–3 pieces one couple came andasked for
pani puri. He gave them disposals to eat pani puri.

As they didn't have any cash theystarted checking whether they can pay through
paytm or not as network is verypoor in this area.

He tried so hard but failed.

Then he asked for his wife's mobile and then tried. Still unable to makethe
payment of ₹40.

The owner of that stall was noticing everything. He then said “eat first then
pay the amount”. Thecouple said, I think we won't be able to make money, let it
be. We are leaving.

He smiled and said “it'sfine, if you don't pay the money as you have reached
here, don't leave withouthaving my pani puri”.

I was astonished and started looking at him how can a person who has sucha
small way to earn money can say something like that.

We know how much does ₹40 matter to these people! Still, such a sweetgesture.

I said- it's fine i will pay. Take my phone number you can return itsomeday.

The owner said- Madam, I amsaying no need to pay.

May be because of this you will visit my stall again.

Finally he provided them pani puri without asking for a single penny.

It's very rare to meet such people. Every time I use to go there, Icollect some
information about him. He is from Uttar Pradesh. Such a sweet boy,he is.

My note- Broader mind is more with people having less money.

Q7         Why do gases diffusefaster than solids?

A7          Gizachew Diga, MSc andProf. Physics & Solid State Physics, Jimma
University (2018) Answered 52mago

Gases diffuses faster than solids. This is because, particles in gases have
high volume, enough space so that they are free to move.

or the inter molecular forcesbetween particles in a gas is very very weak
compared to solids. thus particles are free through a distance called meanfree
path.

However, particles in solids are tightly bound together by a strongbond(force).
For this reason they are not free to move. Instead, they vibrateabout their
equilibrium. so the particles in solids are much more slower thanparticles in a
gas.

Q8         What are some financialtips that everyone should know?

A8          Sathish Jayapalan UpdatedFri B.Tech from Anna University, Tamil
Nadu, India (Graduated 2011)

Having 3 different bank accounts, salary account, save it account , spentit
account - this works and brings financial discipline.

Understand difference between assets and liabilities - Home is liability where
as rented home without EMI is an asset.

Without investment anyone cannot able to attain financial stability
orindependence,

Start investing early, start today- Better time to invest is 10 yearsback, next
best time is today.

Read books on personal finance - if your are reading late then yourwealth
creation will also starts late.

Spending also important , but spend wisely keep your money for spendingand
spend it lavishly no issues.

Keep loan and credit card loans as less as possible (20% of total incomeor
less)- instead of taking loan from friends or colleague better go with
reputedbanks in long run you will learn the art of your money management via
paying tothe banks on times.

Don't invest or start anybusiness without learned orexperienced , don't have
experience then go for mentor learn from him and getguidance from him before
starting.

My note- Excellent tips. Credit cards helps a lot. But ensure pay fully.

Q9         In the fifties andsixties, Indian doctors reused glass syringes and
injection needles after puttingthem in boiling water. Was that safe and is it
done now?

A9          Krishna Suryakanth Tue BlogWriter at India

Let me begin by saying I am 90s kid and I remember nurses using glasssyringes
and injection needless after putting them in boiling water. Or may beI lived in
a very backward town.

Was that safe? Yes, it was, after all it was used for decades but it isnot done
now. The question is how safe it was? Let me list a few limitations.

The safety regarding reusing syringes was totally dependent on the nurse.Just
imagine a lazy nurse not boiling the water enough?

The whole process of boiling the syringes and reusing was time consuming. It
resulted in a lengthy line, which indeed can result in nurse taking a shortcut.

When the syringe is removed from boiling water (it did happen sometimes),it is
obviously hot whichcan harm the chemical composition of the liquid medicine
sucked in it.

After injecting an ill person, itis necessary to put the syringe in boiling
water. Just imagine if the syringeor the needle is kept on the desk or table
for a whilein between? It will again improve the chances of infection.

As far as I remember, there used to be a box container with a coil and aplug to
boil syringes. Just imagine power cuts in those days?

All the above limitations are overcome by packed plastic syringes.

Plastic syringes have its own limitations. For instance, extra careshould be
taken when it comes to dumping them.

My note- Most Hospitals had atleast 3-4 metal syringes. So one after the other
is used if I recollect. After taking from boiling water it was cooled forsome
time. Doctors insisted on these procedures.

Q10       Is getting a job in TCSlike getting a government job among IT sector
companies?

A10        Yamini Aiswarya Thu FormerDevops Engineer at Tata Consultancy
Services (company) (2016–2020)

Having worked with TCS for 4 years, I think, I can answer this. In myopinion,
the basic interpretation of a government job in the Indian society is:

1. Job Security 2. High salary 3. Less work.

Now let’s see how it is with TCS.

Mode of work: Coming to the work culture in TCS, it is like any otherservice
based company. First, you join as a fresher, you would be assigned aproject
which is nothing related to your skill set(in fact no RMG cares!!).After
entering the project work, you will understand that, a small piece ofwork, is
divided among a group of people and you need not take the entireresponsibility
if it fails. The discussion of your performance only comes atthe time of your
band and as usual, nobody cares of your excellency!! They’llgive whatever they
wanted to.

I have seen people staying withTCS for 15+ years!! The reasons can be Lack of
proper skill set to make aswitch(result of being in the comfort zone for years).

They have already built good connections at management level, which makesit
difficult to leave.

Salary: Coming to the salary, Iworked with TCS for 4 years andthe overall
change in my package by the time I left is less than 1.2 LPA. Andif this is the
case, then, the difference of my initial salary to the salary Iwill be earning
at the end of 10 years will be less than 10 lakhs.

Job Security: I have never seenor heard about people who are fired from TCS!!

If the question is “If TCS job is equal to Govt job”, based on the
aboveinformation, you decide!!

All the above QA are based onQuora on 09-04 - 2021. Quora answers need not be
100% correct answers
