Q1         Who is Durga Devi? Can anyone explain in detail?

A1          Naganath Cg 11m ago FormerVice President ( Application Software )
at Premier Computer Support (2010–2010)

The name Durga is applicable both for parvati and mahalakshmi

Hence if durga is considered asmahalakshmi then vishnu is her husband

If parvati is considered thenlord shiva is her husband[i]

Durga is a fierce deity who will kill the bad elements and do good to thegood
people

Now particularly in this covid period, we must pray with devotion

Then she will root out the covid with vengeance hence all combined haveto
recite durga stotra which gives quick results within a week

Hence it is better to keepphotos of lord narasimha and durga devi together and
also lord shiva withparvati

Then corona will bow to us and get lost and runs back to the place whereit came
from

Such is the power of narasimha durga shiva and parvati

Q3         What is the most interesting fact you learnt this week?

A3          Aryan Kapoor Wed Livesin Rajasthan, India

Human skin is extremelyresistant to electric current.

Do you know what is the resistance of our skin to current is?

It’s 1,00,000 ohms(1 lakh ohms)!

Yep, but the inside of our body has a resistance of only 300ohms to electric
current due to water and electrolytes present in it. So, thecumulative
resistance reduces drastically!

Hence, we get a shock while touching a live wire. If the cumulative resistance
of our entire body were 1lakh ohms as a whole, we would be walking with live
wires in our hands! This isthe most interesting fact I learnt this week.

MY note- Some people can touchpower wire with bare hand. Very few. Is it due to
thicker skin in body or fluidinside body is less. I had a technician while
working in Tutucorin named chrisopher who could 230 v power wire withbare hand.

Q4         Where is the cheapest place to eat in Sri Lanka?

A4          Mahi April 11   I'm a Sri Lankan myself.

In Sri Lanka similar to India you will find Annadhana which means Food offering
(strictly vegetarian)is given completely free of charge in various temples in
northern provincedaily. At least one meal every day.

In other parts you will find Hindu temples offering free meal at leastonce a
week.

in Buddhist temples also foodoffering is given free in special days.

If your question mean the place where you must pay. Then I wouldrecommend
vegetarianrestaurants ran by Tamils in most popular cities. You have to only
payfor the main item. Vegetable curries are unlimited.

You can have good fill for just 100 rupees which is just 0.5 US dollars.

Q5         Can private boats use the Panama Canal?

A5          Arun Visvanathan Wed FormerCommander at Indian Navy (1970–1990)

I transited the canal many times. Since my ships were reefers of about 15 mtrs
long therewas plenty of space for one, sometimes two small ships to share
thelocks with me. Mycompanions were warships, tuna boats, fancy motor yachts,
small sailboats, tugsand other ships like that.

The Panama Canal is very picturesque unlike the Suez canal which isnothing but
flat featureless desert on both sides.

The Gatun lake is dotted with many small, heavily wooded areas and thedeep
water route passes around and between the islands. Unfortunately day
timetransit is reserved for cruise ships (so the passengers can enjoy the view)
andlarge Panamax ships. All my transits were at night starting at about 1830
andexiting at about o300–0330 at the other end.

Being reefer ships with perishable cargo we always had pre-bookedtransits so we
transited on the day of arrival. On occasion it was touch and gowhether we were
able to report to the signal station before the cut off timeand not lose our
spot.

My note- I hope Mr Venkat ramanPerinthalmanna  can give added
beautifulexperience and information (who is Ex- merchant navy)

Q7         What are some of the myths of Arjuna from the Mahabharata?

A7          Bhanu Kiran April 13 Exploringancient texts of Sanatana Dharma

There are several myths aboutArjuna in Mahabharata. Lets go through them.

Krishna created a fake sunsetso that Arjuna can kill Jayadratha:Kripacharya
says to Duryodhana that Arjuna used his courage to kill Jayadrathaand none of
them were able to stop him. So this proves Krishna creating fakesunset is
interpolation.

When we saw that Jayadratha waswithin the range of hisarrows, where were the
ones on your side—the son of a suta, Drona and hisfollowers, I, you, Hardikya,
your brother Duhshasana, and his brothers? O king! While all the worlds looked
on, he used his valour to cross all your relatives, brothers, aides and maternal
uncles and placing his feet on their heads, slewJayadratha. What is left for us
to do? Where is the man who can defeat Pandava.

2. Arjuna used the deadlyPashupata to kill Jayadratha: Arjuna never used his
Pashupata in his entire life. The weapon that Arjuna used to killJayadratha is
not mentioned by its name. Mahabharat just says Arjuna invoked a weapon that
resembledIndra’s Vajra and it severed Jayadratha’s head.

He used mantras to invoke a divine weapon that was like Indra’s vajra tothe
touch. He used an arrow that was capable of bearing a great load and hadalways
been worshipped with fragrances and garlands. To bring aboutJayadratha’s death,
Arjuna quickly released it. Released from Gandiva, thatarrow was as swift as a
hawk snatching a bird from the top of a tree. Itsevered Saindhava’s head.

3. Lord Hanuman himself waspresent on Arjuna’s chariot: Lord Hanuman appears
only once in Mahabharat to meet his younger brother Bhima. LordHanuman said he
will send fearful shouts to dampen courage of enemies. He wasnot present
physically in the chariot of Arjuna.

When you rush into the enemy’s battle formations, armed with arrows andspears,
and utter a roar like that of a lion, I will add my own roars to thatof yours.
Seated on Vijaya’s flagstaff, I will let loose terrible roars thatwill rob the
enemies of their lives.” Having said this, he disappeared.

Source: Mahabharat translated by Bibek Debroy Tirtha-yatra Parva Chapter447(150)

Arjuna had obtained the divinechariot of Moon god during Khandava daha itself.
The flag pole already contained a roaring ape.

On the flagpole was a divine monkey marked with the signs of the lion andthe
tiger. It seemed to roar out from that adorned perch. There were many
othergreat beings on that flag and their roars made enemy soldiers lose
theirsenses.

4. Lord Hanuman breaking prideof Arjuna: Lord Hanuman never met Arjuna. It was
Sahadeva who went in southern direction for Yudhishtira’sconquest. Arjuna
travelled in northern direction for the conquest.

Vaishampayana said, ‘Having thus conquered him, Kunti’s son, themighty-armed
Dhananjaya then went towards the north, protected by the lord ofriches.

MY NOTE- Then what isKalayana sougandhikam incident?

5. Urvashi had cursed Arjuna tobecome eunuch: Arjuna never even met Urvashi in
heaven. It is an interpolation removed in critical edition ofMahabharat. King
Virata tested whether disguised Arjuna is really eunuch or notand Arjuna passed
the test.

Having tested Brihannada indancing, music and other arts, and on determining
that he was a eunuch, theking of Matsya permitted him to enter the quarters of
the princess. Lord Dhananjaya instructed Virata’s daughter insinging and music,
as well as her friends and attendants.

6. Arjuna and Vrushali lovestory: This is only part of Indonesian Mahabharat
and not from Vaisampayana’s narration of Mahabharat.

7. Arjuna got blessing fromGoddess Durga before the start of Kurukshetra war:
This event is removed in critical edition of Mahabharat as interpolation.

translations

Q8         How can we recognise our hidden talent?

A8          There are two ways tofind it out. Keep a note of things you do when
you have nothing to do. Reading, drawing, editing, singing or dancing anything.

That activity you are passionate about and are good at without putting inmuch
efforts is your talent.

Keep a note of things that you think of actually doing, when you arebusy. You
feel like quitting your job or work and start doing that one thing.

It can be cooking, writing, dancing singing or as mentioned above editingor
painting.

This is the easiest way toidentify your hidden talent. Also, pay attention to
what you get complimented for the most. That can also be yourhidden talent.
