VAA KEERIYA THAMBURAN

IRAUM THARUM

Dear friends,

My title roughly means the Godwho has opened the mouth would give food also.
This is the case with allbeings. The infant requires food- The God has provided
milk in breast of thefemale. Today I thought writing precisely   about MOUTH

Sincerely,

Gopala Krishnan 08-05-2021

1. Primitive communication.

The primitive communicationincluded body language along with sounds produced by
the mouth, beforedevelopment of languages.

The new born kid starts itscommunication with cry, a sound produced by mouth.
Most of the sound is producedthrough mouth, though some sounds are produced in
stomach, muscles etc.  These we could hear some times- chodakku (Click),vayar
irumbal (borborygmus)

2. Purposes of mouth.

Food intake is possible onlythrough mouth.

(I am not forgetting drips etc. given in the vein, when feeding by mouthis not
possible/desired. This is more common for a person withdiabetic faints by blood
sugar goes down after taking higher dose of insulinetc.)

When food taken through mouth isnot digesting, vomiting is through the mouth.
This is especially importantagain with infants and small children, not
digesting food.

For voice communication a personcan talk through mouth easily.

In case of difficulty whilebreathing through nose, people breathe using mouth.

3. Vac vaibhavam (Fluency of words)

It is the fluency of expressionin clear and understanding manner to others.
Every person except dumb can talk, but some can talk in an identifying manner,
if I am correct. There would be nosearching for words or the way to put it.
Some can talk everything with apurity and divinity in expression. In colleges
those who teach English andHistory would have more fluency than others. Those
who teach technical subjectswould be concentrating more to technical subject.
This does not mean they wouldtalk- an atom haveprotons and neutrons.

4. Vayilla poocchhi

A person not able to express anddefend himself and innocent is called Vayilla
ppoochi (insect without mouth)

5. Vayil thonniyathu kothaikku pattu (What felt in mouth is music forkothai)

The literal meaning is what ever came in mouth to Kothai (devoteeof Krishna) it
was divine music.

However now a day the saying isused to mean a lady/ man who talk without any
sense and thinking, simplytalking whatever coming in their mouth.

6. Vayum vayarum undengilum, alavillathae kazhikkaruthu (Stomachand mouth are
available, but food intake should be limited).

There is a mouth to take in food, there is a stomach to digest and keep, but
there should be a limit also to thefood intake.

Normally one person should consumeonly 3/4th of the quantity of food he
require. By chewing thequantity would increase.  I have seencows resting before
my home, not able to wake up and eat the food offered by me.After half an hour
they would go and eat the food offered.

6. Vayil ninnu veenal edukkan pattilla. (Words spoken cannot be taken back)

It is a very important saying- Wehave to control our words. Words spoken cannot
be taken back. If the words areill talking and later asking excuse, excuse may
not have any effect.  During the period the Pandava brothers livingone year
without showing their identity Bhima killed Keechaka, who wasdisturbing
Panchali functioning as helper to queen. When the news that somebodykilled
keechaka Bhishmar had a slip of tongue- If Keechaka was killed it would be by
Bhima.  This was sufficient for Duryodhana, to identifypandavas living in
cognition.

Now with magazines, internetgroups, face book, WhatsApp, one has to be careful
while posting/ writing. Manyuse unparliamentarily words in spite of the
affected person writes.  Whatever written is a record.

7. Mouth feeding or spoon feeding.

Only infants and small kids are fed by others. As they grow up, they should be
able to do things independently.

A student came out of collegeafter getting a degree, shouldnot be helped by his
parents by FILLING UP AN APPLICATION FORM FORJOB.  He should not be helped to
fill awater bottle or packing biscuits in a bag or selecting dresses etc. for
ajourney etc.by mother/ father.  Thesesort of activities of a parents are
called mouth feeding and make him not self -relying.

Though I wrote it, most of theparents do mouth feeding to their wards, fearing
mistakes, carelessness etc.  In the early stages if the parents are well
educated.  I have done spoon feeding to my son in hisearly days of employment.
However after a time, spoon feeding GRADUALLY STOPPEDby me.

The beauty is some children onmaturity express their capability and we do not
offer mouth feeding andHESITATE IT.  But a few express and askfor mouth
feeding.

8. Controlling mouth.
It is one of the basic needs ofthe society. If there is a control of mouth, no
mother inlaw, daughter in law quarrel would occur. Buthuman nature is
different, quarrel, argument, challenge, pride etc. are humanqualities WITH
EVERY BODY, Some controls a lot, some control to a certainextent, and some do
not control is the true fact.
9. Vomiting in examination things learnt by heart.

Actually the saying is a mis-norm,only thing is a great relief to the brain
after writing the examination. Unlessbrain controls, writing is not possible.

10. Puranic reference of vomiting Krishna yajurvedam by sage Yanjavalkya.

Yanjavalkya was learning underhis uncle Vaisampayana. Some difference of
opinion (it would take paras to write the details)created between them, and
Vaisampayana asked Yanjavalkya to vomit what helearnt from him.

Accordingly the Krishna yajurvedataught by him was vomited by yanjavalkya. He
prayed to sun god. Pleased withhis prayers Sun God taught him Sukla Yajurveda.
Sukla Yajurveda appeared beforehis eyes in pages for some time and disappeared.
Yanjavalkya learnt them byreading.

Except very few in Tirunelvelimost iyers are Krishna Yajurveda in Kerala and
Tamilnadu as I have readelsewhere.

11. Oral hygiene.

It is not possible to havehundred percent hygiene. Mouth is with bacteria’s,
good and bad. With more andmore hygiene, there is a possibility of GOOD
BACTERIA’S GET DESTROYED. Always salivais there in the mouth to keep it wet.

Bad odour is something whichothers feel than self-many times. DUE TO MOUTH OR
STOMACH DISEASES ALSO BADODOUR CAN REMAIN IN MOUTH, immediately after brushing
teeth and tongue and verycleanly washing the mouth. Without knowing things we
should not remark or comment of bad odour.Even certain medications can create
bad odour in mouth.

Tobacco, cigarette, liquor, areall give bad smell to the mouth. Eating garlic
also gives irritating smell inthe mouth.

Cleaning well the mouth afterintake of food, use of mouth washes once or twice
etc. could keep the mouth notsmelling bad. There are fresheners for the mouth
and use of fresheners are alsogood specially when going to a meeting etc.

Decayed teeth, paining gum, stomach problems etc. can give more bad dour to
mouth. In my opinion, a personshould be conscious of oral hygiene and do the
best for it.

Now special sprays are developedto apply in mouth in the Covid period to defend
the virus entering the mouth.

12. Vaa keeriya thamburan

Now in Tamilnadu ration rice/wheat is free. In Kerala it is given on nominal
price. Similarly other states.During covid season unemployment is there, still
with ration one and his familycan survive with some small spending for
vegetables etc. In Kerala cooked free food of their choiceis given to workers
came from North India

This is a re written posting of an old one with lot of updates, earlier
postedon 29-11-2012
