Random thoughts Part 2 annexure

Dear friends,

Yesterday in the posting Ihad mentioned the replacing of corroded dish of my
D2h TV connection. I like to add a little more detailswhy it was replaced.

I had a Tata playconnection in my picture tube Sony TV in guest room. It was
not recharged forabout 3 months. Yesterday I recharged it, but new software was
downloaded, andTV receiver showed mismatching with setup box. So a Tata play
technician came on my reporting, he set rightmismatching. Sincesignals were
low, he went to dish, and while he was tuning for better reception,I asked him
whether the corrosion of d2h dish couldaffect it’s reception. He said yes, and
desired earliest replacement by d2h.

So I called d2h for replacement of the dish. D2htechnician came with a new
dish and new receiver and replaced and tuned and inthe TV, I could observe
therewas great change in picture quality in the TV receiver.

Today there was a responsefrom Mr Rajaram, whethermicrowave reception from
satellite to dish could be affected by corrosion ofdish.

I just thought making a Google search

Showing results for whether corrosion of the TV dish canaffect the reception of
signals

The dish may be affected bycorrosion or rain fade, which amplifies the effects
of these sun outages. This isespecially likely if your satellite dish is more
than a few years' old andhasn't had its LNB (Low Noise Blocker) replaced during
that time.

Does a rusty satellite dish affect the signal?

A satellite dish and its LNB needto be in good condition and not rusty, bent
orbroken; this includes the metal rod that holds the LNB. Water can leak into
theLNB if the dish is very old, affecting reception.

I thought  I may add these details, so that any of myfriends may get benefited,
if his dish is corroded, by replacing the same.
