Q3         Howdo scientists know the age of the Earth?

A3          Penumbra Garrote Physics, casualphysics fanatic, currently studying
astrophysics14h

We estimate that the age of our Earth is around 4.6 Billionyears old. Although
almost all geologists andscientists believe this, this is just an estimate for
how old the Earth is.

In reality, the Earth might be muchmuch older than 4.6 Billion years.
Althoughit isn’t highly plausible it could be true.

Scientists and geologists look at rock samples and useradiometric/radioactive
dating to figure out how old the rock is.Radiometric/Radioactive Dating is
where you infer how old the rock is bylooking at the decay rate of radioactive
isotopes. The most used elements arePotassium, Argon, and Uranium.

Let’s take Isotope“Z” for example. This isotope will lose 1% radioactivity
every 100 millionyears. If we use these numbers, we will know that if the rock
has 60% of theisotope, then the rock should be around 4 billion years old.
Obviously it’smuch more complex than this, but this is just a simple
explanation.

To get the number 4.6 billion years, scientists havelooked at multiple rock
samples from various different types of meteorites, the soil, and even the moon,
and got this number. Because of this, there is notthat high of a chance, but
still a chance, that the Earth is older than 4.6billion years since we might’ve
not found the rock yet to prove that. Thisdoesn’t have much evidence to back it
up but it’s still a fun thing to thinkabout. So for right now, the Earth is 4.6
billion years old.

Q4         Whichfruit is not good for the liver?

A4          Tasleem, Digital Marketing SEO(2021–present)3h

Grapes, particularly in excessive quantities, are notconsidered beneficial for
liver health. While they contain antioxidants, they are also high innatural
sugars and fructose.

Consuming large amounts of fructosecan lead to fat accumulation in the
liver,potentially causing fatty liver disease.

Moderation is keywhen including grapes in your diet, especially if youhave
existing liver concerns. It's advisable to consult a healthcareprofessional for
personalized dietary recommendations.

Q5         Whydoes AC always have 16 as the lowest temperature?

A5          Mukund Goswami,M. Sc chemistry fromPRSU UNIVERSITY RAIPUR
(Graduated 2012)4h

Air conditioning (AC) systems typically have a lower limitfor temperature
settings, and 16 degrees Celsius(approximately 61 degrees Fahrenheit) is often
used as a standard minimumtemperature for several reasons:

Comfort and Health: Temperatures below 16degrees Celsius can be uncomfortably
cold for most people, potentially leadingto health issues like hypothermia,
especially when you're indoors. Maintaininga minimum temperature limit helps
ensure the well-being and comfort ofoccupants.

Energy Efficiency: AC systems are designed tomaintain a balance between cooling
and energy efficiency. Extremely lowtemperatures would require the system to
work harder, consuming more energy, which can be inefficient and costly.

Cooling Capacity: AC systems are typicallydesigned to remove heat from the
indoor environment, and there is a practicallimit to how much heat they can
effectively remove. Extremely low temperaturesmay not be achievable or
sustainable for the equipment.

Condensation and Moisture: Very low indoortemperatures can lead to condensation
on walls, ceilings, and floors, potentially causing issues like mold and
moisture damage. A minimum temperaturelimit helps prevent such problems.

Design Standards: Industry standards and buildingcodes often specify a minimum
temperature setting for AC systems, ensuring theycomply with safety and
efficiency requirements.

It's worth notingthat the specific minimum temperature setting can vary from
one AC system toanother and might be adjustable based on user preferences, but
16 degrees Celsius is a commonlyused lower limit to strike a balance between
comfort, efficiency, andhealth

My note- In places like Chennai, where it is alwayshot (Now my laptopshows 33o
C), if at all we set 16 degrees, it may  cool maximum 24 degree only.
