CULTURAL QA 10202329A

Q1 If Bhakti can remove all sin, then why did Srila Prabhupada
suffer a lot before death?

KR As aged, had tried to lift the ladder, one would have had read
already in these columns, might have censored, such unrelatable Q &A. Not
only Prabh pada, but Ramana and so many did not suffer but enjoyed their
karma. No-one including Rama or Krishna as human can escape the Karma; even
as avataram they proved it by drowning and being hit by a hunter etc.
Sufferings are that of the immature Aviveki.

Q5 In a construction project, soil backfilling is one of the
essential features required. Thus, the site is created and ready for
construction.

KR Good

Q7 Which is the temple city of Tamilnadu?

KR No; 1 Kumbakonam is known as a "Temple town" due to the
prevalence of a number of temples here and is noted for its Mahamaham
festival, which happens once in 12 years, attracting people from all over
the country. Kumbakonam (Coommbaconum) is an idyllic town skirted by
Cauvery and Arasalar rivers. Popular as a temple town, Kumbakonam is home
to around 188 temples, the most prominent of which is the Kumbeswarar
Temple. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it is the oldest shrine in the area, built
in the 7th century.

2 Kanchipuram, also called Conjeevaram is a Temple city in Tamilnadu. It is
also known as City of Thousand Temples. Kanchipuram is one of the
most-ancient cities of southern India and traces its history to the 2nd
century BCE as an early Chola capital.

3 Bhubaneswar is called the temple city of India. This city is the capital
of Orissa situated on the eastern side of the state. Bhubaneshwar city also
has historical importance.

4 Tamil Nadu is home to more than 40,000 Hindu temples and is aptly called
"the land of temples" by media. Many are at least 800 years old and are
found scattered all over the state. The rulers of various dynasties
constructed these temples over centuries.

*CULTURAL QA 10-2023-29A*

*All the BELOW QA are from Quora digest to me on 29-10- 2023.*

*Quora answers need not be 100% correct answers *

*Q1 If Bhakti can remove all sin, then why did Srila Prabhupada
suffer a lot before death?*

*A1 Aditi Pathak,Author and Servant of Lord KrishnaOct 10*

*Even though Bhakti can remove all sin, it does not mean that devotees are
immune to suffering in this world.** Srila Prabhupada suffered a lot before
death, but he never complained. He knew that suffering is a part of the
material world, and that it is important to accept it with grace and
humility.*

*There are many reasons why Srila Prabhupada might have suffered before
death**. One reason is that he was taking on the karma of his disciples. He
was a true spiritual master who was always willing to sacrifice for his
disciples. *

*Another reason is that he was suffering for the sake of spreading Krishna
consciousness. He knew that his suffering would inspire others to follow
the path of Bhakti.*

*Finally, it is important to remember that Srila Prabhupada was a human
being**. He was subject to the same laws of nature as everyone else. He got
sick, he grew old, and he eventually died.* *However, even in his
suffering, he remained a shining example of devotion and surrender to
Krishna.*

*Here is a quote from Srila Prabhupada that sums up** his attitude towards
suffering:*

* "The devotee accepts suffering as the grace of Krishna. He knows that
Krishna is purifying him and preparing him for the highest bliss."*

*Srila Prabhupada's suffering was not in vain. He inspired millions of
people around the world to follow the path of Bhakti. His legacy continues
to this day, and his teachings continue to guide and inspire people from
all walks of life.*

*Q2 Can I use reject RO water in the same RO again? The municipal
water has 180TDS and after purification, the rejected water has 200TDS. The
reason to use the rejected water again is because limited water supply and
no supply in summer.*

*A2 Lakshmi Panakala, House Husband at Home (word)
(2021–present)2h*

*No. Do not reuse the rejected water from RO filter machine to filter
again. The efficiency of machine to separate water decrease.*

*My note- Infact if the TDS is after filtration is high, **the filtered
water can be again filtered** in a second machine.-*

*Q3 Why is dry docking necessary on a ship?*

*A3 Rebecca Williams, knows about boats and ships Fri*

*Dry docking is a process in which a ship is taken out of the water and
placed in a dry dock for inspection, maintenance, and repair**. Dry docking
is necessary for several reasons, such as:*

*Hull Inspection: The hull is the most critical part of a** ship’s
structure. It can corrode or get damaged by water, marine growth, or
collisions. Dry docking allows for a thorough inspection of the hull to
detect and fix any problems.*

*Maintenance and Repairs: Dry docking provides an** ideal environment for
ship maintenance and repairs. Ship owners can perform planned maintenance
and repairs to keep the ship in good condition. They can also paint the
hull, replace propellers, repair engines, and other tasks.*

*Improved Efficiency: Dry docking can improve the** efficiency of a ship’s
performance. By removing marine growth from the hull, the ship can reduce
drag and increase speed and fuel economy. By repairing any defects or
damages, the ship can improve its safety and reliability.*

*Regulatory Compliance: Dry docking is a** requirement by many regulatory
bodies that oversee the maritime industry. For example, the International
Maritime Organization (IMO) requires ships to undergo dry docking once
every five years for inspection and maintenance.*

*Dry docking is an essential practice for all kinds of ships, be it
commercial vessels or luxury yachts.* *It ensures the functionality,
performance, reliability, and safety of ships. It also saves money and time
in the long run.*

*Q4 What is the story of Radha leaving Vrindavan for Mathura? Why
didn't she go to Dwaraka with Krishna?*

*A4 Gokul Renjith, Lives in India (1999–present)9h*

*Sri Radha does eventually go to Dwaraka as per **Garga Samhita.*

*After thus performing a rasa dance at Siddhāśrama, Lord K**ṛṣṇ**a took the
gopīs and queens to Dvārakā. There He built many great palaces for Śrī
Rādhā.*

*Chapter 18, Dvaraka Khanda, Garga Samhita.*

*A lake named Lila-Sarovara existed near Radha’s palace in Dwaraka -*

* “O king, at the entrance to Śrī Rādhā's palace, is Līlā-sarovara lake,
which was brought from Goloka, and which is the best of all holy places.”*

*Chapter 19, Dvaraka Khanda, Garga Samhita.*

*Q5 In a construction project, soil backfilling is one of the
essential features required. Thus, the site is created and ready for
construction.*

*A5 Manoj Kumar,Studied Civil Engineering (Graduated 2001)1h*

*In this article, we will discuss how to calculate the amount of soil/sand
and no of Trolley (Material Handling) / truck needed to fill the plot.*

*The example we have,*

*Plot Length = 20 ft. Plot Width = 10 ft.*

*Area of the plot = Length x Width = 20 x 10 =200 sqft.*

*If we need to fill the plot by 3ft. So, plot Depth = 3ft.*

*Volume of plot to be filled = 200 x 3= 600 cuft.*

*So, volume is for the loose state**. For the filling, the standard for the
compaction process is utilized.*

*Considering the compaction rate, 30% of the original uncompacted soil is
compacted**, and the final compacted soil volume is 70% of the uncompacted
volume*

*For instance, 1.0 for the original uncompacted state ends up to become 0.7
of the compacted state*

*So the volume is in a loose state. For the filling, the standard for the
process of compaction is used.*

*Considering the process of compaction to fill, 30% of filling material is
always compacted.*

*So, to fully obtain 0.7 of compacted soil, we need to fill with 1.0
uncompacted soil*

*Therefore, to fully obtain 1.0 of compacted soil, we need to fill with
1/0.7 = 1.43 uncompacted soil*

*For the Process of compaction state, the required quantity of soil/sand
for filling the plot = 600 x 1.43 = 857 cuft. (1.43 is a factor)*

*Now we will calculate required no of Material Handling Trolley/ trucks.*

*Suppose do we have can have a 250kg load carrying capacity trolley which
means it will carry 250/1600 = 0.15625m3 = 5.51cft soil. (As dry sand has
the density of 1,600 kg/m3)*

*for volume = 1 cubic meter*

*No. of trolley required = 857/5.51= 141.5 = 156 nos of trolley.*

*Suppose a truck can carry 2.265cum / 80 cft.*

*No. of trucks required = 780/80 = 10.71 - 11 no. of trucks.*

*POINT: The capacity of trucks and carts varies from location to location
and by a brand of the company**. They were purchased separately as the
standard size was not specified according to the cart/truck owner's
requirements. In general, however, the volume will be constant based on the
counter calculation.*

*Q7 Why don’t telephones need electricity?*

*A6 Terry Lambert,Phone phreak, way back when. Installed PBXes,
phones.Thu*

*Technically, they do,** although for POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service)
lines, it’s often enough to line power them with **24v DC, over the wire
pair. These are called “tip”and “ring”.*

*My note- In India it is 50 V DC.*

*To know it’s off hook, the LATE (Local Area Telephone Exchange) constantly
sends power down, and when it’s off-hook, the hook switch latches a 138ohm
resistance across the tip and ring lines — and it’s noted at the LATE,
which then sends dial tone.*

*The ring is handled by sending ***120V AC, which usually drops to
108v–118v by the time it gets to the phone, as a ground bias against the
ring line only.*

*My note- In India it is 75 V AC*

*In other words, it works because it’s connected to ground at the LATE, and
connected to ground at your house.*

*When touch tone became”a thing”, if you lived in the boonies, it was often
necessary to add a local transformer, and run it up another wire, with - on
ground (black) and + on yellow. This powered both the phone electronics for
tone generation, and the back light.*

*Technically, this came in with “Princess” model phones, and it’s a common
misconception that it originated with the TrimLine models.*

*The phone lines also had lightning arrestors, which were intended to burn
out before setting your house on fire, should a telephone wire be hit by
lightning.** These were mounted on the outside of the house, where the wire
ran down from the roof stand — usually also where the power came in — and
the hole in the side of the hose, where the wire came in.*

*I used to earn candy money screwing these back in, because when they cut
off your phone service for non-payment, they’d send out a guy to unscrew
them so they no longer completed the circuit, but they left them in place.*

*My note- Earlier to 50 V central battery telephone system, there was
magneto system, which was used between dams for conversation for engineers,
when I joined telecom department in 1966 end.*

*Q7 Which is the temple city of Tamilnadu?*

*A7 Tamil Travel Man,I am Ramesh Sekar (Tamil Travel Vlogger)
Based in Mumbai. Thu*

*The temple city of Tamil Nadu is generally considered to be "Madurai**."
Madurai is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the Indian
subcontinent and is renowned for its rich cultural and religious heritage.
The city is often referred to as the "Athens of the East" due to its
historical significance in the fields of art, culture, and religion.*

*Madurai is famous for the Meenakshi Amman Temple, a massive and elaborate
Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi and her consort Lord
Sundareswarar. This temple is not only a significant religious site but
also an architectural marvel with its intricate sculptures and towering
gopurams (pyramidal gateways).*

*The city is home to several other important temples,** making it a major
pilgrimage destination and a hub for religious and cultural activities.
Madurai's temples, festivals, and cultural traditions attract both tourists
and devotees from around the world, earning it the title of the "Temple
City of Tamil Nadu."*
