If the volumr control on the taskbar is active, that means the chip is recognized and the drivers are properly installed and active. Try using the headphone jack to see if there is any sound out put. That would eliminate the speakers as a issue. Look in control panel sound settings and make sure everything is turned up and you have speakers and not headphones selected. Make sure the wave slider is all the way up and not muted. That will make everything look normal but no wave sounds. If all that fails, do a re-install from scratch. There could be something corrupted. ----- Original Message ----- From: "James H. E. Maugham" <[email protected]>

Fn+Home a few times?

Chris

That's the setting for the display brightness on the T21. There are
individual volume buttons, as well as a mute button, and I've tried them as well. The onscreen display shows the pop-up volume bar, so the buttons work.

James
