There it is explicitly stated that ATI MOBILITY RADEON (I'm not shouting, just copy and paste) under XP is supported. They told me to use the latest Catalyst. If I need an earlier Catalyst version, as you suggest, I am unable to determine which version, despite some time searching their forum, putting appropriate terms in google, and following up the hits.
