"The driver attempted to access memory beyond the end of its allocation."
This is looking like a failing hard drive which has damaged some part of W2K or a loading program, or possibly just file corruption of some part of OS or programs. It now constantly BSODs during the boot process a few seconds after the desktop begins to paint. I am thinking to reinstall W2K but wonder if I can get any advice on 1-What files/directories to wipe before beginning reinstall 2-What to keep or whether it is possible to keep anything. I am guessing all programs impinging on the registry must be reinstalled If this doesn't work I'll just get a new HDD but maybe the above is worth a try. I am assuming something is smart enough not to install over bad sectors. I plan to employ the 600X for backup and off-premise use, keeping the T43 at home. Its keyboard is way inferior to the 600Xs. Tks for all help. Jeffrey Race _______________________________________________ Thinkpad mailing list [email protected] http://stderr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/thinkpad
