Thanks Robert,

Before I installed Win7 on the X300 I made sure I had the latest BIOS
update. It's BIOS v1.10 (7TET36WW) and Embedded Controller Version
1.01.

This morning I got up and saw the wireless light was on solid. Sure
enough, the computer required 7 seconds of power button. Last week,
one morning the external display was still on which meant it had
locked up (it had) before the screen saver/standby time limit.

I really don't know what to do, I like the machine and love the form
factor. But I can't use external USB storage for more than a few
minutes at a time (can't leave a USB key plugged in all day) because I
never know when I'll be powering down! :(
