I've always sent machines to EasyServ without the hard drive. I'm about to send 
my wife's machine, and the sheet in the box says "Always send these items: 
Notebook computer and all items normally inside (Memory, hard drive, DVD drive, 
CDROM drive, etc.)"

The problem she's having is clearly hardware; has anyone sent a machine 
recently sans hard drive and had a problem?
