Is that port DisplayPort? Basically it's not limited to 1600x1200 but isn't much bigger than HDMI.

I'm not destroying or selling or retiring my X32 (with XP) because I expect some issues (but ultimate joy) in going over to 64-bit Windows. The unit will take up to 2x4GB = 8 GB RAM, but the 4 GB sticks remain frightfully expensive.
