Reading that page closely, the section that includes the T5x0/W5x0 appears
to be discussing only their use with the Advanced Dock or Advanced Mini
Dock. There's no mention of the DisplayPort built into the ThinkPad itself.

the one I got from Central Computers (slightly different connector shape,
but same overall design). Works great with the W510.
