You know, learning the command line FTP isn't that hard. After about 10 (ten) years of nagitory attempts on my part, I got a friend to sit down with me, and in about 15 minutes he was using the FTP client in the dos box on XP. 10 years of nagging and 15 minutes to actually learn how to use it..... Filezilla isn't bad. For a gui interface.
