The Webmail extension provides a POP interface to Thunderbird and then
uses an http interface to talk to the server that holds the mail
(e.g., GMail, Yahoo, etc.).

Is there a way to configure the extension (perhaps on a per-account
basis) to use https instead of http when talking to the web server
holding the mail?

Or is the only choice to separately configure the web server to use
SSL/https only? For example, GMail has such a configuration option.

I'm wondering if there are email web servers that support https but
don't have a configruation option like GMail. For example, with
GAFYD, individual users might not always have an "always use SSL"
option and control it only by specifying a URL with "https".

(Yes, I know that GMail and GAFYD provides POP service and the Webmail
extension is not required if you can use POP through any firewall.)
