Hi everyone, I have 7 mailboxes: 2 Hotmail, wife has 2 as well, 1 GMail, wife as 1 as well, and I have 1 Yahoo. I've had massive problems with Webmail, the list of which goes as follow: 1 - Each time I fire up Thunderbird, I get the negative vibes message for all Hotmail, Yahoo and GMail boxes. I have click the button, tick the remember box (each time, it doesn't remember that, and if you don't then the next time you have to type the password again, which is a pain when there are 7 mailboxes with different passwords!), and click the next button. Every time, for all 7 mailboxes. 2 - In Hotmail, all emails from all mailboxes (4 of them) are downloaded in all the mailboxes. I.e., no matter which one of the 4 accounts a mail belongs to, it is downloaded in all 4 accounts. 3 - In Hotmail, emails keep on being downloaded again and again, even if they are already in the Thunderbird mailbox. Hence I end up with as many copies of each message as the number of times I fired up Thunderbird. And if you download any of them, the single original gets deleted from the server! As a rsult, I screwed up all 4 of our Hotmail inboxes, and they are now all empty. 4 - In Yahoo, it just doesn't download anything at all. I was wondering why I didn't get any messages since April (yes, it took me some time), logged in via Yahoo!, and lo and behold, 47 unread messages. None delivered to my Thunderbird mailbox. 5 - All above issues occur on both my laptop and desktop, and no, I didn't simply copy the lot from one PC to the other.
Things are tried: 1 - Always updating the plugins to the latest beta versions. It never helped. 2 - Delete cookies.sqlite* and all popstate.dat files in case of corruption (as per suggested somewhere. Unhelpful. 3 - Compress the folders. Ditto. 4 - Use the "Download unread emails" option only, but since we have 2 computers, this prevents them to both have all messages, so it's not better (maybe worse actually). Now, I know that I didn't pay anything, and that I'm welcome to a full refund. However, I think you'll understand my frustration, especially since I am now stuck with Thunderbird since (because of problems 2 and 3) our 4 Hotmail mailboxes (main ones for us) are now ruined on the server, and the only copies of the emails we have now are in Thunderbird (in fact, because of a mixture of the problems, some emails are on 1 PC only!). One thing I should point out is that I use Thunderbird Portable, and Thunderbird v3.0b3, although I had the same problems going on since v2 (so for quite a while). I'm currently looking for a pay-for software that supports Hotmail, GMail and Yahoo, AND that would allow me to salvage the emails that I have left in Thunderbird. So suggestions are welcome on a software that fits the bill, or how to fix the problems in Thunderbird.
