Hi,

Thanks, this brought some clarity ... and confusion. Apparently, the
Thunderbird password manager saved duplicate entries. One of them had
the correct password, one had the old password. I saw multiple entries
for other accounts as well, so I cleared the passwords for all acounts
and then re-entered them on account-by-account basis by checking for
new mail and entering the correct password when prompted. That did the
trick - thanks!
