Hummm...answering my own question.... after a few more frustrating shut-downs...I fired up the TW with Firefox List (on a USB)...seems to work fine....
a quick search and I found/remembered that HeadUp is a Firefox extension (a social networking thingy).....so quickly de-installed it. Its strange that even when the TW with Treeview actually broke...I could still successfully open others TWs that don´t use have Treeview plugun.......seems that Treeview and Headup don´t like each other...and its way beyond my compute skills to get my head around that one!!!!!
