Hi David, Why don't you use the core buttons for theme and palette switching?
$:/core/ui/Buttons/theme $:/core/ui/Buttons/palette You can just add an appropriate tag (e.g. $:/tags/ViewToolbar) or, if you don't want to override shadow tiddlers, transclude them in tagged tiddlers.
