* Fields are not currently searchable (but the plan is that they will be) * Fields are useful for adding a named value to a tiddler; your examples make sense * Fields can be transcluded as you infer: {{!!color}} or <$transclude field="color"/> Tags are incredibly powerful on their own, and you may well find that they meet most of your needs, but fields do make database-like applications a lot easier.
