Try googling "centered layout css" and you shall find something like...
margin: 0 auto; ...and that you need a wrapper for your container that comes at full width. The width of your story must now be set to be x pixels. Not sure if that *position:absolute* needs to be changed to *relative* (or if for the outer container as well?). If you uploaded something to play with, that would make the process easier.
