No, it should work even if you chose "png".

It has to be a path issue. 

This one should work:

/home/b/m/t/e/f e/b/image.jpg

If you put this in your browser address bar and enter, does the picture 
show?

P.S. The googledrive one will probably not work because it is in a frame. 
Since 2016 Google has tried to prevent their service being used as a file 
server (dropbox made the same change).
