Sorry, my misunderstanding on what your removal mechanism does but I now get it. Regardless, the main point in my original post was the idea to have commands (macros?) integrated into the ToC. ToC/menus are such a central features to wikis that it's good if they're "dynamic" in what they can display. I'll play around a bit more wiht your dragn'drop of ToC branches. I can't code but it would be most excellent if it could be made to work on arbitrary levels.
