I just wanted to let everyone know that I've spun up a new Fedora 11 beta
virtual machine and then updated it fully. I then installed tigervnc
version .90-0.5.

This all worked, but I can report the following:

- The x11 font installation issue now seems to be cured. The
vncserver now just 'works'.

- This version still has a problem with windows based vncviewers
properly rendering. The Linux version of vncviewer works perfectly.

- I experimented much more with the new xstartup script. It works
as I previously reported.

o Even though I selected KDE at the initial log in, went connecting
via vnc, it always defaults to gnome.

o Whatever choice the user makes at the graphical login screen has no
bearing on what vncserver uses to display.

o The only way I've found to get any given windows manager is to
install switchdesk, run it to set whatever you want as the the default
window manager and then reboot the VM. Tigervnc will then use that setting
for the window manager for that user.

o This is actually ok, I think, in that if you're sitting at the
local machine, you can get whatever windows manager you want at the
graphical login screen while still being able to relatively set a different
windows manager for each vnc user.

FYI.
