Hi,

I've been using vncviewer 0.90 on Linux quite happily for a while, and I
was trying to replicate what I did on a Windows XP box.
I simply copied the password file over and ran the exact same command
line that I use successfully on Linux:
vncviewer.exe 192.168.0.100::16000 PasswordFile=Z:\16000.pass

The viewer just pops up the authentication dialog...
On the server, all I see is this:
Mon Oct  5 21:49:42 2009
 Connections: accepted: 192.168.0.101::1393
 SConnection: Client needs protocol version 3.8
 SConnection: Client requests security type VncAuth(2)

If I then cut&paste the password from this file into the box I get:
Mon Oct  5 21:57:37 2009
 SConnection: AuthFailureException: Authentication failure
 Connections: closed: 192.168.0.101::1393 (Authentication failure)

So it looks to me like vncviewer.exe does not honour the "PasswordFile="
option (I've tried with single/double dashes and without..), and that
something is wrong with the authentication?

For reference, the server is started with:
Xvnc :110 --rfbport=16000 --PasswordFile=/home/antoine/Shared/16000.pass
Server is v0.90 and Linux client works with both 0.90 and 1.00, I've
only tried the 1.00 client for Windows, but since authentication is part
of the RFB protocol, the version should not matter, right?

Any ideas?

Thanks
Antoine
