Thry are two different things - you're talking about the compatibity mode built into the OS, but the other poster is talking about "Windows XP mode" - which is basically a copy of XP running inside a Virtual PC VM that's available as a download for the "business" variants of Win 7 (which are, not coincidentally, the ones that have XP downgrade rights anyway).
@David Taylor Virtual PC 2007 is XP and Vista, but it doesnt' support "XP Mode" (unless you just create a VM and install XP into it). OT: Did you ever work at a company called "Fieldtech Heathrow"?
