There is some close collaboration going on, and I have learned
much from the dependencies that DNS has on NTP for
authentication and other features. Most of what I learned
I learned from the ntp hackers list hosted on isc.org.

The interrelations between time and DNS authentication have led
to many of the decisions that we talk about here regarding
NTP and DNS lookups. It's very easy to get into a
chicken-and-egg situation if you make the wrong change.

A smartly structured server hierarchy makes something
that sits at stratum 3 get far more reliable time than something
that sits at stratum 1.
