Playing the devil's advocate for one bit here: wouldn't it be a great
succes for the project, if it became this normal and this entrenched in
'standard Internet service' to have access to synchronized network time
anywhere in any IP network with a simple setting.
Yes, it would change the project from a great collaboration project giving
new insights to something that needs to be managed and highly available.
The current 'best effort' results would turn into 'service level
agreements'. Don't worry, that last term still makes me cringe.
Anyway, it is very funny to me that users of the time.windows.com service
had to notify microsoft developers in order to get it fixed (after seeing
it mentioned in this mailing list, and on comp.risks). Our monitoring
system is better, I guess.
