i found a fix of sorts... it appears the version i had installed, 4.2.4_p0, may not properly handle the -L switch. it kept re-trying the virtual ip addresses.. I updated to 4.2.4_p3 which is 'test mode' (not production) in my package handler and it suddenly ignored all virtual ip addresses leaving it binding to addresses that are fine for it to use if it wishes. in our systems the first ip in every nic is dedicated for 'host' use. when i have a bit more time next weekend, i will apply the above patch and mess with it a bit. once these have 'settled in' for the next day or so, i will submit them to the pool. -- Chuck _______________________________________________ timekeepers mailing list [email protected] https://fortytwo.ch/mailman/cgi-bin/listinfo/timekeepers
