I'll give my 5cents on this topic.

I'm a previous user of compiere (since 2002...) and my company had worked for
years on compiere and created a number of modules for it (HR, translations
etc...) but since hte breakup and the creation of adempiere... I tried
migrating towards that (only briefly) but since then spent a couple of years
dealing with things other than ERP (Sharepoint, etc...), and in ht epast few
months am moving back to the "open source erp" world.

what I've found is that openerp has made by far the most progress when compared
to openbravo/adempiere, erp5 seems dead. openerp5 is such a leap, and the new
web based interface and the openobjects development tools... are nothing short
of amazing (to be honest sap ecc6 can learn a lot from you guys!). Also the
launchpad "bazaar" -> which i think tiny emulated the bazar style of adempiere
has been tremendously successful in getting more participation compared to
previous iterations (tinyerp 4 etc...).

I must say the documentation has been massively improved too... and, most
importantly the ability to create new modules has been simplified for mere
mortals like me (my previous attraction to the compiere world was the simple
Application Dictionary). Overall I must congratulate and thank the team at tiny
and all the other contributors for the amazing effort they've made so far!

yes... this is one post, where I'm not complaining or asking for more features
:D

If I am honest, one key point that's still not perfect with tiny is the
advertising.... now, the new website and the openerp.tv are both excellent both
in terms of the idea and in practice... however, make a google search for open
source erp, or openerp 5 and you get very few reviews of openerp 5. Why?
openerp5 should push to get reviewed by all the major enterprise app
journals... and more importantly in some professional journals which are aimed
at end-users in industries (not IT folk).

just my idea...

also. one to many sync of multiple offline POS to main warehouse... this is an
essential function for almost every customer i've spken to! + raphael Valyi's
serial number management tool needs to be in the core distribution.

my 5cents.

thanks guys for the great product. and let me know how i can help in any
(limited) way i can.
