The web client >= 5.0.2 was a major improvement dropping TurboGears & Kid 
templating in favor of CherryPy3 & Mako templating to improve performance, 
reduce dependencies and easy deployment. The version numbering was kept in 
favor of server version compatibility.

It was a total rehaul of the web client and we never tested it on Py2.4 as our 
production machines are running with Python2.5 & 2.6 only on Ubuntu & Debian 
machines. If you think, the Python2.4 compatibility should be maintain in this 
release, please give us more information (report a detail bug), we'll consider 
fixing the related issues.

BTW, as I said previously, you can easily use the recent versions of web client 
on your CentOS with ActivePython...
