Looking at this in more detail. If I was going to assign the document to each partner, wouldn't that create a new identical document on the filesystem for each partner?
Could somebody explain the preferred procedure for recording that a particular flyer/leaflet (or a generic, identical letter, with no address mail merge) has been sent to some partners. I'm a bit confused by the document management system as I've only worked with much simpler (and less integrated) document management systems before.
