As I worked for SAP Labs I must say something concerning Mr. Valyi's extensive post. All that Valyi stated is complete truth.
I am wondering when will OpenERP replace XML-RPC with SOAP services ? Big companies are highly bureaucratised according to Parkison's law which you may explore in detail http://www.economist.com/businessfinance/management/displaystory.cfm?story_id=14116121 There are also some psychology involved. With regards to big companies the most interesting issue is that in some cases, the decision makers don't know what they actually need. Many of them are from IT sector so they are reluctant to ask a question because asking will mean that they don't understand what you are talking about. This is the reason why some big companies choose very expensive solution while their problem could be solved even with mere Open Office Base. Many of CEOs are prone to conformism ( passion to work with big partners, to be a part of big system, use a big ERP regardless of required functionality ). Some SAPs solutions have bugs even if they are hard tested. SAP has marketing budget comparable to Oracle. 80% of SAP customers are mid sized companies 100 - 200 users. Talking about legal matter, to win a law-suit against SAP is impossible mission. -------------------- m2f -------------------- -- http://www.openobject.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=49228#49228 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ Tinyerp-users mailing list http://tiny.be/mailman2/listinfo/tinyerp-users
