So I do, but sometimes the edit is quite complex and validation is a painful 
task, which limits the interest of the module.

Good. As an alternative, I use a module from kn-dati which directly imports an 
xml file, no need for a module during early stages. Good to know 
module_recorder will improve in next versions.
