The issue is that nesc 1.1 installs a different avr assembler that
has the patch which allows it to handle $. So, if you have nesC 1.1
and binutils-2.13, then you'll be fine. However, if you install nesC
1.2 and it calls an unpatched 2.13 assembler, then you run into this
issue.
