Lin Gu ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) posted these numbers to the tinyos-help list in response to
another user's query. I think they're relevant to tinyos-users, too, so I'm reposting here.
 
Note that later in the email thread, Joe Polastre pointed out,
"Remember that the use of an external antenna
will significantly alter these results.  I'm able to get up to 30 yards with a pot setting of 10
and an external antenna in our lab which has significant RF noise."
