I think you have this all figured out, but just in case...

- mica2 and mica2dots have the same radio, use the same radio stack; they
talk nicely.
- the mica has a different radio chip/stack than is used on the
mica2/mica2dot. micas don't talk to either mica2 platform.

Try  simplifying your environment: load CntToLedsAndRfm onto the mica2; load
RfmToLeds onto the mica2dot. Turn the mica2dot on -- no lights should blink.
Turn on the mica2 -- the mica2 should display the binary count on the LEDs,
and the mica2dot will synchronize. You only get the red led on the mica2dot
since there's only one led, but it works..
